Accuracy & Trust

At Odigo we strive to ensure that all of our content, including spots, tips, trips, blog posts and contributor posts, is accurate and informative and creates trust with our community.

We believe honesty and authenticity is crucial in gaining and keeping our user’s trust. Because of this, we do not take any payment or advertising incentives from businesses or individuals to promote specific spots or content in our web application or blog.

We are careful before publishing our content. We undertake detailed research, build relationships with local governments, and will carry out final copy-editing and fact checking. If any factual mistakes are made we will seek to correct them quickly.

Editorial Process

Our community of travelers, foreigners living in Japan, local governments and tourism agencies are an integral part of our editorial process. We actively solicit feedback and advice to ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness, of our information.

Our writers and staff receive reader feedback and local advice about destinations, events and stories we are writing before we begin our assignments. This helps us prioritize our visits and research, and ensures we find the best information and uncover experiences off the beaten track. We regularly update and correct our content based on new information and feedback.

Integrity

We recognise that Odigo operates as a private business but we will ensure that commercial considerations do not affect our core values. Our content is assigned, edited, and published without interference or influence from advertisers. The difference between advertising and editorial content will always be made clear.

Creating deeper international relationships

We aim to present Japan accurately, helping and inspiring visitors to understand the history, culture, and values of Japan through nationwide travel, experiences and exchanges between visitors, locals, and Japanese people. We are also creating and developing ongoing relationships with local governments and businesses in each prefecture

All the images and content on our website are owned by us, unless otherwise stated. We will credit any photos or materials we reference where necessary. We will not use another party’s content without their consent, unless the content is copyright free or under Creative Commons license and we will be sure to properly credit those materials.

Accountability

We always welcome feedback. We are easy to reach with questions, ideas and corrections. Complaints, if any, will be addressed quickly and in tune with our values.

Community Tolerance and Respect

Odigo and its community honor our common ground but we are also mindful of diversity. We respect and value differences in opinion, culture and beliefs. Content that is derogatory or condones illegal activities will not be accepted. Slurs, racist or sexist language and content, hate speech and animosity of any kind are also unacceptable.
